Who we are

ODF is a charitable organisation founded by Her Royal Highness (HRH) the Omugo of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, Queen Margaret Karunga Adyeeri. HRH is passionate about bettering the lives and livelihoods of her subjects, especially women, children and the youth, and support them in achieving their full potential. She has noted the extreme poverty, widespread gender-based violence, high school drop-out rates, early marriages, teenage pregnancies, poor health and lack of awareness, among other societal ills, that she is keen to use her office towards their alleviation and eradication. She intends to exploit her role falling under her office as responsible for the promotion of culture to improve quality of life for development.

Our Programs

Isenkati oraha

“Isenkati,”is a term in Bunyoro used to refer to the paternal aunt or the sister of one’s father, the male version being “Isento,” the brother of one’s father. Isenkati plays a major role in the family especially in raising and grooming children at different stages of life.

Enkande

Enkande is a nurturing and mentorship camp mainly for young people in and out Of Bunyoro that uses cultural heritage and the positive traditions to shape and steer the community towards sustainable development

Omugo Tournament

Netball is a game that attracts largely women and girls participation and when played in the Gala format, it brings together millions of players and supporters to enjoy the competition.

Mukumanfuuzi initiative/ fund

There are thousands of Orphans in Hoima alone and even more in all Bunyoro region. Most of these receive some support and funding from different stakeholders including the church, charity organizations, and individual donors

Agroforestry program

The Agroforestry program is a sustainability plan for ODF that entails establishment and management of agroforestry plantations and also provision of agroforestry knowledge, skill, and training towards youths in communities and young people in schools to create sustainable economic development solutions.

Annual Health Camps

ODF organizes Annual Health Camps in the different districts of Bunyoro sub-region to extend health services to towards the local communities. The event is also organized with the objective of creating awareness on prevailing health issues, and available health services amongst the people. The community is provided with free medical consultation services
